Council Pest Control Officers will deal with pests that are harmful to public health and well being at domestic premises and the domestic part of a mixed commercial/domestic residence.
Rodents, that is rats and mice, can be particularly unsettling due to their possible transmission of diseases.

The Council will, for these and other public health pests, commence treatment within twenty-four hours, apart from requests made on Friday, when the response will be by Noon the following Monday. The response to requests made on a day preceding a Bank Holiday shall be no later than noon on the first working day after the Bank Holiday.
Other public health pests causing concern are wasps, ants and specific insects.
The Pest Control Officer will call by prior appointment and apply safe and effective treatments. If for any reason the problem persists they will return and make every effort to ensure the pest is eradicated.
Charges from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009 for twelve months.

The Pest Control Officer shall, when dealing with any treatment for mice and rats, carry out adequate follow up visits and re-baiting after the initial placing of pesticides until the infestation is cleared. The infestation shall be taken to be cleared if after three weeks from completion of treatment no further rodent activity is reported.
Treatment of insect pests shall include at least one subsequent visit to ensure treatment has been successful and that the infestation has been eradicated.
The charge is inclusive and covers the whole treatment.
