Parks, gardens and cemeteries

Cemeteries and churchyards

Cemeteries we look after Eden are at Alston, Appleby, Garrigill, Nenthead and Penrith. We also look after 12 closed churchyards.

Grounds maintenance - landscaping

Grounds maintenance - landscaping is carried out by our grounds maintenance contractor.

Horticultural standards

Horticultural standards are maintained by our grounds maintenance contractor's gardening staff.

Allotments

Allotments are looked after by the District Allotment Society.

Trees

Trees we own are maintained annually as part of a maintenance programme.

Parks and gardens

The parks and gardens we look after are Appleby's Coronation Park, and King Georges Field with the Butts and in Penrith Coronation Gardens and Penrith Castle Park.

Grass cutting

Grass cutting is carried out by our grounds maintenance contractor on some areas in the district. If grass we maintain needs cutting to us by completing the grass cutting request online form.
