Junkmail can be recycled by placing it into your green bag as part of the kerbside Bag and Box Scheme.  You can also take them to a paper bank at your local Recycle Point.

Alternatively you could apply to have your junk mail stopped - see information on Mail Preference Service below. Around one million tonnes of junk mail gets binned every year in the UK.

You can stop most unwanted junk mail coming through your letterbox by contacting the Mailing Preference Service, stating that you would like your address removed from direct mailing lists.
