What is the Eden Apprenticeship Scheme?
Eden District Council is working in partnership with Cumbria County Council to offer businesses financial support to take on Apprentices. Details of the Scheme are set out below.
As an employer how much do I get?
You will attract a grant of up to £2,000 toward wage costs for each new Apprenticeship. You may also attract a further £1,500 from the government, if you qualify (usually if you have not taken on an Apprentice in the last three years).
Which businesses will be funded?
The funding is limited, so the priority will be on those businesses that can offer a good chance for the Apprentice to become a permanent member of the team.
The business must be located in Eden District.
Businesses employing fewer than 250 employees are eligible for this funding, although smaller businesses may take priority.
Criteria for Apprentices
The Apprentices will be aged from 16 to 24. They will be paid at least the National Apprenticeship rate of £2.60 per hour, and will need to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Apprenticeship training provider
The Apprenticeship training will be delivered by the provider considered most appropriate by Cumbria County Council at no cost the employer.
