The Communities Portfolio Holder made decisions on the following applications:
Application for funding towards Appleby Bowling Club for replacement of ‘Green Bower’ Roof: The application was for £6,500. The Portfolio Holder decided to defer the application as there were insufficient funds remaining to support it and also to request of the applicant that confirmation of matched funding be provided.
Application for funding towards Brough Memorial Hall for Solar Panel installation: The application was for £10,000. The Portfolio Holder decided to refer the applicant to the Council’s Village Halls Grant in 2012-13 as it was considered a more appropriate source of funding for this application (the 2011-12 Village Halls Grant is fully committed).
Application for funding towards Castle Park Bowling Club for an acquisition of green maintenance machinery: The application was for £7,000. The portfolio Holder decided to award £7,000 towards the scheme to ensure the continued survival of the Club and the vitality of Castle Park.
Application for funding towards Lazonby Little Learners, pre-school provision of Lazonby village and surrounding district: The application was for £2,500. The Portfolio Holder decided to award £686 towards the scheme as there were likely to be benefits for local children and their families and the creation of two jobs.
Application for funding towards the Morland and Newby Renewables Roadshow: The application was for £900. The Portfolio Holder decided to award £500 towards the Roadshow as it supported local community priorities and the Council’s Corporate Priorities.
Application for funding towards St Michaels Church, Brough for Solar PV installation: The application was for £10,000. The Portfolio Holder decided to refer the applicant to the Council’s Village Halls Grant in 2012-13 as it was considered a more appropriate source of funding for this application (the 2011-12 Village Halls Grant is fully committed). Application for funding towards Temple Sowerby Memorial Hall for refurbishment of Village Hall (replacement of windows): The application was for £10,000. The Portfolio Holder decided to refer the applicant to the Council’s Village Halls Grant in 2012-13 as it was considered a more appropriate source of funding for this application (the 2011-12 Village Halls Grant is fully committed). |
