HR/7/1/11 Election of Chairman

RESOLVED that Councillor S J Simpson be elected as Chairman for the duration of this meeting.

HR/8/1/11 Apologies for Absence

There were no apologies for absence.

HR/9/1/11 Declarations of Interest

There were no declarations of interest.

HR/10/1/11 Exclusion of Press and Public

RESOLVED in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, members of the public (including the press) be excluded from the meeting during discussion of the following item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

HR/11/1/11 Short-listing for the Post of Interim Chief Executive

The Members considered the summaries which had been prepared by thirteen candidates for the post of Interim Chief Executive. The Sub Committee was assisted by Zoe Whitehead from Gatenby Sanderson. The thirteen candidates had been put forward by Gatenby Sanderson for consideration. The Members considered each summary which was submitted by each candidate with regard to the key tasks and key objectives for the post and the essential requirements which were set out in the person specification. The personal details of the candidates had been removed from the summary and each candidate was identified by number.

RESOVLED that:

  1. The candidates numbered 2, 3, 5, 9, 11, 12 and 13 be invited to attend for interview;
  2. The interviews take place on the afternoon of 2 February and throughout the day on 3 February with three candidates being invited on 2 February and four on 3 February;
  3. The meeting on 2 February to commence at 2pm and the meeting on
    3 February to commence at 10am;
  4. Gatenby Sanderson be requested to prepare a draft of the questions for the interviews for consideration by Members;
  5. The interviews consist of a presentation by each candidate followed by questions by Members.

The meeting ended at 3.50pm
