The Portfolio Holder approves the refurbishment of the Village Recycling Centre compound at Pooley Bridge at an estimated cost of £3,500 to be funded from existing capital budgets; and

Delegated powers are granted to the Director of Corporate and Legal Services and Director of Technical Services to negotiate and conclude a licence agreement to their satisfaction from the Lake District National Park Authority in respect of Pooley Bridge recycling centre.

Environment and Sustainability Portfolio, 1 June 2011 - ‘Contribution towards Improvements at Tebay Recycling Centre’.

Reasons for Decision The recycling compound is now almost 17 years old and in need of repair.  The tarmac hardstanding has become broken and very uneven and the fence has become warped and rotten.  If the site is to continue to benefit the residents of Pooley Bridge and surrounding areas, the compound will need to be refurbished.
Summary of Options Rejected:

To not undertake the improvement works.

To not accept Barton Parish Council as the adopting group.
