Allowances Scheme 2011-2012 from 6 May 2011
The scheme is unchanged from the 2010-2011 scheme, except that the list of Approved Duties at Schedule 2 has been updated and the agreed annual indexation has been applied. It was agreed by the Council following recommendations from an independent panel. We pay our Councillors (also called 'Members') a range of allowances to provide some recompense for the time they put into Council activities and to cover some of the incidental costs of being a councillor. How much is paid to each councillor is a public record. These allowances are set out in the Members' Allowances Scheme (PDF: 132Kb / 10 pages).
