These grants are available to Village Hall and Community Building committees.
Under this scheme the Council may give grants towards capital works, one-off major items and major repairs and improvements.
The current years budget can be found in the most recent budget book which is published under Council finances on this site.
The level of grant is subject to a maximum of 40% of approved expenditure, with a limit of £4,000 in any one year.

All applications are submitted to the Council via Voluntary Action Cumbria, which is responsible for assisting village halls and reviewing their applications before submitting to the Council.
In 2005/06 the Council awarded 10 Village Hall grants ranging from £338 to £4000 and in 2006/07 6 grants were awarded ranging from £395 to £4000.
