Regeneration Projects

Regeneration is a major priority for Eden District Council as highlighted in the '2006-2016 Developing the Economy of Eden - A 10 Year Plan.' Regeneration involves maximising the potential of people and businesses for collective community action.

Priority Aims and Objectives

Under the theme of regeneration in the Eden plan there are many objectives that Eden District Council and partner groups hope to work towards. These are to:

  • Improve leadership, management and regeneration project management skills.
  • Establish priorities for action in major service centres.
  • Support regeneration activities in smaller settlements through the Community and Parish Planning Process.
  • Develop a communication mechanism for sharing regeneration information between Eden partners.
  • Ensure, through effective representation, that sub-regional, regional, national and European policy makers are aware of the issues facing Eden.
  • Ensure that the 'rural' case for continued funding assistance from central, regional and European sources has a high profile.
  • Maximise funding opportunities as appropriate.
  • Engage with the Eden LSP steering group to take forward the Eden Community Strategy.
  • Work towards developing a higher wage economy.

Regeneration Projects

Currently, Eden is witnessing various regeneration schemes progressing in the district. The projects taking place, some of which are listed below, are all helping to achieve Eden's vision of a diverse and sustainable economy through encouraging investment, developing new and old skills and supporting new and existing businesses.
