The expansion of the well established Gilwilly Industrial Estate area to create the Eden Business Park is one of a number of strategic projects that the Council is undertaking, together with a range of private and public sector partners, aimed at reinforcing Penrith as a premier business location.
Working in close partnership with the North West Development Agency, Eden District Council has developed the infrastructure for the prestigious forty acre business park, which will have a development value of £2.67million. Eden Business Park is located in a prominent and accessible position within 1km of the primary road network, the M6 and the A66 and the West Coast Main Line Rail.

Land Purchase
Plots have already been developed by James Fruit and Vegetables Ltd, fruit and vegitable wholesalers; a consortium headed up by Tweddle and Slater, Consulting Structural Engineers; and Rickerby, leading suppliers of farm and professional grasscare machinery in the North of England and the Scottish Borders.
Greggs of Cumbria, part of a national business which operates 1,250 Greggs and Bakers Oven shops across the country, purchased approximately three acres of the development land in 2005 aimed at securing its long term future in Penrith. The company employs around 300 local people at existing bakery operations in the town centre, but these sites have been in operation for around 60 years and do not offer the opportunity for the levels of investment needed for a modern bakery operation.
Current Availablilty
All except for 3 plots of 3.1 developable acres in total have already been sold or is under offer.
