Start up training - business skill traing course offer by CREA gives useful advice on how to start up a business, including writing a business plan, learning about tax, accounts, branding, sales and marketing. Unite with Business

The Unite with Business project offers small to medium sized businesses in Cumbria a free business support programme, to increase business innovation, performance and productivity. Cumbria University provide the Business Placement Services.

Business support is provided via graduates and final year university undergraduate students. These individuals work within the businesses for a period of 150 hours, with the nature of the work being to address a skills or resource shortage within the company - such as designing or re-designing a website, developing a communications or marketing strategy or even prototyping a new product.

Health for work adviceline co-ordinated by NHS plus: the free Adviceline offers occupational health advice to employers who manage small to medium enterprises. A trained advisor will signpost clients to help with things such as sickness absence, mental health issues, workplace assessments and the new fit note.
