Website feedback: Our responses

Each month we collate the text responses to the online website survey here are some of the actions we have taken to the requests you have made.

Your Comment What we did
Could not report that rubbish bags were not left. Only if rubbish had not been collected. We created a replacement blue bag online form and added link to the form from the blue bag page, and from other pages under Environment and waste.
Could we please have the dates of the school term times / holidays on the swimming timetable page.

Links now added from these webpages:

to Cumbria County Council's webpage on school term dates.

Can't find train timetables. We have added a link from transport and streets page to the train information on the public transport page.
Name & location of Appleby cemetery. We have added the names and addresses of all the five cemeteries we look after.
... there wasn't room for the information in the box that said please include as much information as possible. I put too much in but had to guess the limit! [Planning enforcement complaint form] The limit on the amount of information you can provide has been increased to 10000 characters
I was looking for Woodland burial photos. I wanted to see what it looked like before I went further. We added pictures to our page on woodland burial area.
...the last stage says "success" which might leave the uninitiated to believe that their appeal had been successful! Perhaps it could be changed to say that for form had successfully been submitted. [PCN challenge form] We have changed our forms to say 'form submitted' rather than 'success' on the last page.
I was looking for details of the Affordable Housing fund, for details of fees to developers and whether they applied to an individual self builder and if so, at what rate. Affordable Housing Fund page was added to the website.
The 500 word max is a little short. Mine was a simple complaint but I failed to manage it in 500 words. [PCN challenge form] The limit for the challenge reason has been increased to 5000 characters (approx 1000 words). We will investigate similar limits on all our forms and increase where we think they are possibly too low.
I would like to have seen the information i needed about conservation areas in map form. Conservation area list webpage now has a map of all the conversation areas that can be enlarged.
Had to look elsewhere for the Chief Executive's contact details as couldn't find them on the website. Contact details for the Chief Executive are on the Contact a Director or Section Head page we added a link from the Find or contact us page to make them easier to find.
There are no times for swimming pool opening on the website. We added deep links to pages on Parkwood Leisure's website for Penrith Leisure Centre and Appleby Leisure Centre.
You asked for more detail of conservation areas. We put all the conservation areas we are responsible for into a directory. Each conservation area is displayed as a link in a directory. Each conservation area link takes you to a detailed page about that conservation area with information, maps and documents. See conservation area list.
Seven people have requested more information on local history. We added a webpage on 'Local, family and house history'.
Four people have requested more information on Genealogy. We added a webpage on 'Local, family and house history'.
You were looking for information on socio-economic groupings in the Eden area and other info to help you set up your business. We added a link to the Cumbria Intelligence Observatory on the key facts and figures webpage.
You were looking on this website for an idea of how much a minicab from Penrith to Newbiggin would cost, or average tariffs. We added a link to taxiroute.co.uk on the public transport and taxi rank pages.
You wanted to know how to request an additional green garden waste bin. We added a link on the garden waste webpage to the online form to purchase an additional garden waste bin.
The links in the [Moving Home] form to setup direct debit and other links are not working. It will be helpful if they were working as well. These links were fixed within 30 minutes of the survey being filled in.
The leisure pages have now improved and information more easy to find and more relevance. I was looking for details on play areas for my grandchildren which was difficult to access. We moved the page back under Leisure.
Your forms are not submitted over a secure ssl connection, instead it is plain text http. Although the payments were secure, this was hidden by the fact that we used frames to display the forms. We have stopped doing that now and the secure nature is clearly visible.
Could not find a contact address for RADAR NKS purchase. We put all the information on public toilets on the page. Under the heading 'Wheelchair accessible toilets' we added links to RADAR the disability network online shop website who supply keys. We also added a link to who sell them.
Looking for details of the procurement officer, found details of the financial services manager. We have added a comment on the page to say that the Financial Services Manager is responsible for procurement. We don't have a procurement officer.

We have rewritten and renamed the page on Waste Disposal sites, it is now called Household Waste Recycling Centres.
